Co-director Offer Grembek has been appointed to a three year term on the Transportation Research Board's (TRB) Standing Committee on Transportation Safety Management. The committee is concerned with the development and coordination of integrated safety management programs to reduce death and injury on transportation systems.

Nine separate projects address crucial pedestrian, bicycle and traffic safety concerns
(Berkeley, Calif., November 23, 2015) – The Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (UCB SafeTREC) announced today nine grants for 2015-16 from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to support crucial traffic safety programs.
The Community Pedestrian Safety Training (CPST) program is a partnership between UC Berkeley SafeTREC and California Walks. Since 2009, a total of 36 CPST workshops have been implemented in 35 communities.

On October 27 2015, our Co-Director Offer Grembek presented "Road Safety Management for Pedestrians and Bicyclists" at Tongji University's 2nd Annual International Symposium on Frontiers of Road and Airport Engineering - iFRAE 2015. The presentation focused on the relative Vulnerability Matrix for Evaluating Multimodal Traffic Safety.
We join many others in mourning the loss of Deb Hubsmith, who passed away on August 18, 2015 after a nearly two-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
