Within the past year, several new resources have been developed for Street Story, an online community engagement tool that allows residents, community groups and agencies to collect information about transportation collisions, near-misses, general hazards and safe locations to travel.

Ragland honored with ATSIP's Traffic Records Forum Best Practices Award for his work to improve transportation safety on California's Tribal Lands

SafeTREC is offering free Complete Streets Safety Assessments (CSSAs) to California communities, including cities, counties, and school campuses with a population of over 2,500 people. CSSAs are comprehensive transportation safety assessments that focus on pedestrian and bicycle safety. They help local agencies identify and implement traffic safety solutions that lead to improved safety for all users of California’s roadways.

On October 12, 2021 SafeTREC Co-Director Offer Grembek joined KQED Forum's Alexis Madrigal for a discussion on "How to Make Streets Safer for Pedestrians as Fatalities Rise." 

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, SafeTREC Applications Program Manager SangHyouk Oum presented, "SWITRS and TIMS Tools for Crash Data in California" via Zoom for the Injury Prevention Coalition in the County of San Luis Obispo.

Community Engagement: Pivoting Active Transportation Safety Planning During the COVID-19 Pandemic

UC Berkeley SafeTREC’s Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS) has been developed to provide quick, easy and free access to California crash data from the Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS) that has been geo-coded to make it easy for users to query, map, and download collision data.
