Mobility 10x Summit: Accelerating Transportation Innovation Across California

The Safe System Approach (SSA) is central to U.S. transportation safety goals to achieving zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries. At the recent Mobility 10x Summit: Accelerating Transportation Innovation Across California on February 6, 2026, SafeTREC director Julia Griswold organized a panel to present "Designing a Safe System: Creating a Transportation Network that Anticipates Human Error" and discuss how to use more proactive, upstream, and effective strategies to improve road safety for all.

The Mobility 10x Summit was the capstone event of the Resilient and Innovative Mobility Initiative (RIMI)—a four-year research effort launched in 2021 by the University of California Institute of Transportation Studies (UC ITS)
