Weijing Wang is a postdoctoral researcher at the UC Berkeley Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (SafeTREC). Her expertise sits at the intersection of transportation, safety, and justice. At SafeTREC, her current research focuses on applying Safe System principles to planning and policy to reduce traffic fatalities and severe injuries and achieve equitable outcomes. Prior to her doctoral studies, Weijing served as a Transportation Planner II for the Louisville Metro Government, Kentucky, where she specialized in the implementation of Vision Zero and the Safe System approach. Before that, she was a Statewide Transportation Planner for the Michigan Department of Transportation. Weijing holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University and a PhD in Transportation Technology and Policy from the University of California, Davis.
