SafeTREC's Julia Griswold to present in Caltrans Research Workshop
Registration is now open for a virtual workshop hosted by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the National Center for Sustainable Transportation (NCST), "Developing an Active Transportation Census Program" which will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 from 8am - 12:30pm PT. SafeTREC Researcher Julia Griswold will join fellow researchers from Caltrans, UNC's Highway Safety Research Center and Texas A&M to discuss the efforts to design an active transportation census program.
Event Overview
This workshop will help to build a common understanding among Caltrans staff and partner agencies to facilitate development of a statewide active transportation census program. Major workshop topics include: 1) the purpose of and vision for creating a statewide active transportation census program; 2) key considerations for designing and operating an active transportation census program; and 3) integrating the census program with emerging, third-party data sources to provide information across the entire transportation network.
