This year, the Community Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program (CPBSP) will partner with eight communities throughout California to discuss, plan, and implement active transportation safety improvements. We’re excited to announce the start of our site visits this week!
This week our program staff will be on the ground in Kingsburg, San Bernardino, and Tulare to conduct site visits with each community’s Planning Committee. At the site visits, our staff will conduct walking and biking assessments, teach participants about the Safe System approach and potential strategies within it that can positively impact the community’s safety, and plan community workshops to be held throughout the summer.
The CPBSP is made up of both the Community Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Training Program (CPBST) and the Comunidades Activas y Seguras Program (CAyS)
CAyS Participants play Loteria to learn the Safe System Approach.
Our participants for this year’s program include:
CPBST | CAyS |
Kingsburg | Knights Landing |
Jurupa Valley | Orange Cove |

Stay tuned for announcements for each community workshop which are open to the public. If you live in one of these communities and would like to be involved, email us at cpbst@berkeley.edu
