November 28, 2023

People walking, biking across an intersection on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles on a sunny day

For many of us, we might think of transportation as a means to safely get from one place to another, but it's much more than that. Transportation is also having access to the basic needs and activities of our lives, and it's a critical factor that influences people's health and the health of our communities. In the podcast episode, "The Future of Transportation Safety" co-produced with Charles T. Brown of Equitable Cities and Puddle Creative, SafeTREC's Lisa Peterson speaks with three experts about the future of transportation safety in the United States, with a particular focus on addressing inequities for people from historically marginalized communities.

Guests:

  • Dr. Jesus Barajas, Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Policy, UC Davis
  • Meghan Mitman, Principal, Fehr & Peers
  • John Yi, Executive Director, Los Angeles Walks
