Liza Lutzker, MPH (she/her) is a research data analyst with UC Berkeley SafeTREC and a doctoral student in epidemiology at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Liza earned a B.A. with majors in biology and philosophy from Amherst College and an MPH in epidemiology from the Yale School of Public Health. Research Data Analyst

Krista Nordback is a senior research associate at the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center with an additional appointment as a research data analyst at UC Berkeley SafeTREC. Her work focuses on bicycle and pedestrian traffic and safety. She has researched non-motorized traffic counting technologies and programs for Colorado, Michigan, Oregon, California, and Washington State departments of transportation as well as multiple cities and regions around North America. Lucia Ornelas is a policy and program analyst at UC Berkeley SafeTREC where she supports the Community Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program and Street Story. SangHyouk Oum

Associate Director, Safety Data and Tools Lead

SangHyouk Oum is the associate director and the safety data and tools lead at UC Berkeley SafeTREC. SangHyouk has been working on creating and managing various web tools for transportation safety, which include the Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS), California Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) Tracking Tool, California Tribal Data Viewer, Street Story, etc. His areas of expertise are transportation safety data, GIS analysis, and web programming.

Communications and Outreach Lead

Lisa is the communications and outreach lead for UC Berkeley SafeTREC and manages center communications for outreach, social media, and two traffic safety related websites. Prior to SafeTREC, Lisa worked at the Center for Public Health Practice and Leadership at Berkeley Public Health, where she lead center communications, was co- instructor for courses on health communications and professional development, and coordinated a new media training series. Matthew Raifman

Transportation Safety Researcher
Dr. Matthew Raifman is an expert on estimating the co-benefits of sustainable transportation, with academic experience modeling transport-related physical activity, estimating the health effects of air pollution, and quantifying disparities in traffic fatalities by race/ethnicity. At UC Berkeley SafeTREC, his research focuses on understanding how the changing composition of the passenger vehicle fleet impacts incidence of traffic fatalities, unpacking how automated vehicles may affect road safety, and exploring novel approaches to setting speed limits in the U.S.

Glenn Shor retired as a research and policy advisor at CalOSHA, California Department of Industrial Relations in December 2019. He managed California/BLS Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries program, and worked with Workers’ Compensation Information System (WCIS).
