Bio/CV:
Thomas Rice serves as a Research Scientist at the Safe Transportation Research & Education Center (SafeTREC) at UC Berkeley. He received his MPH (2000) and PhD (2004) degrees in Epidemiology from the UCLA School of Public Health and worked as a researcher at the UCLA Southern California Injury Prevention Research Center from 2000 to 2005. Dr. Rice’s research interests include motorcycle safety, occupant restraint systems, law enforcement traffic safety, and statistical methods. He also holds a joint appointment at UC San Francisco where he is involved in research on Hepatitis C and HIV prevention.
