Dr. Yuanyuan Zhang is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (SafeTREC) at University of California, Berkeley. She received her Bachelor degree in Roadway and Airport Pavement Engineering from Tongji University, and was recommended for the Master and Ph.D program in transportation planning.
In 2010, Dr. Zhang was funded by the National Scholarship of China for a joint Ph.D program in University of California, Berkeley. She received her Ph.D degree in Transportation Planning and Management from Tongji University in 2013 and subsequently joined SafeTREC. Her current research expertise includes: pedestrian and bicycle safety data collection and analysis, systemic approach to safety management, roadway network structure analysis, and macro-level safety analysis.
