SafeTREC's Aqshems Nichols Awarded Eisenhower Fellowship

Congratulations to the recipients of the Eisenhower Fellowships for the coming year!

The prestigious Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP) has awarded fellowships to five UC Berkeley students affiliated with the Group photo of the five student recipients for the Eisenhower AwardInstitute of Transportation Studies (ITS).

Recipients include UC Berkeley SafeTREC's Graduate Student Researcher Aqshems Nichols, a Civil Environmental and Engineering (CEE) doctoral student.

Recipients:

  • Doctoral student Mohamed Amine Bouzaghrane, advised by Civil Environmental and Engineering (CEE) professor Joan Walker;
  • Master of science student Avikam Chauhan, advised by Electrical Engineering and Computer Science professor Alexandre Bayen;
  • Doctoral student Dawson Do, advised by CEE professor Maria Laura Delle Monache;
  • Doctoral student Aqshems Nichols, advised by CEE professors Walker and Susan Shaheen; and
  • Yuneil Yeo, advised by Delle Monache.

The Eisenhower Fellowship

The Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP) is a program through the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) that awards fellowships to students pursuing degrees in transportation-related disciplines (PDF). This program advances the transportation workforce by helping to attract the nation's brightest minds to the field of transportation, encouraging future transportation professionals to seek advanced degrees, and helping to retain top talent in the U.S. transportation industry.
