NEW! SWITRS Statewide Summary Tool on TIMS

September 20, 2021

UC Berkeley SafeTREC’s Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS) has been developed to provide quick, easy and free access to California crash data from the Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS) that has been geo-coded to make it easy for users to query, map, and download collision data.

As part of an ongoing effort to support local and state agencies efforts to improve traffic safety, a new tool is now available, the SWITRS Statewide Summary.

The SWITRS Statewide Summary is a tool for accessing and mapping statewide crash and injury data from the California Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS). The following data can be queried and viewed in tables:

  1. Fatal and injury crashes (overall);

  2. Fatalities and injuries (overall);

  3. Fatalities and injuries to pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, older adults and unrestrained vehicle passengers; and

  4. Fatalities and injuries related to alcohol, drugs, distracted driving, and speeding.

Users may query cities or counties, and may view 3 or 5 years of the most recent data available. Data is updated quarterly.
