SafeTREC is developing a pilot methodology for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)(link is external) to incorporate bicycle infrastructure into the state's Traffic Accident Surveillance and Analysis System (TASAS). The methodology will help the state in better understanding the infrastructure associated with bicycle collisions and support safety improvements. Students recently completed a field study to test the methodology, as seen in the photos.
