Crowdsourcing Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety
A team from SafeTREC is conducting research on race and income disparities using a crowdsourcing app to collect data about perceived pedestrian and bicycle safety. UC Berkeley's Center for Technology, Society and Policy has provided seed funding for this work, and the team is planning to work directly with planning and public health departments and disadvantaged communities in the Bay Area.
