Co-director David Ragland speaks about Data-Driven Approaches to Road Safety
On March 30, Co-director David Ragland was a member of a SPUR panel in San Francisco on use of data to support Vision Zero efforts. David described the numerous ways in which SafeTREC is utilizing data to address traffic safety issues, including an online tool for analyzing and mapping traffic injury patterns (Transportation Injury Mapping System) as well as analyses and integration of vehicle and roadside sensor data. David also described how we might benefit from a Data Science Division that is being developed at UC Berkeley.
