Bio/CV:
Aqshems Nichols serves as a graduate student researcher at the UC Berkeley Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (SafeTREC). Currently, he is assisting with tasks related to SafeTREC's Community Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Training (CPBST) Program. Previously, Aqshems worked on a media relations project as part of a grant funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety, assisted with SafeTREC's road safety tribal projects, and worked on an active transportation safety evaluation project led by SafeTREC for the City of Emeryville.
Aqshems is a student in UC Berkeley's transportation engineering doctoral program in which he is co-advised by Professor Susan Shaheen and Professor Joan Walker. His research focuses on investigating more deeply the relationship between transportation access and life outcomes. Aqshems previously served as a survey researcher with UC Berkeley's Transportation Sustainability Research Center (TSRC).
