Data from Street Story are publicly available and can be used by members of the public as well as agencies, community groups, transportation safety advocates, and others.
Since 2019, the Coalition for Responsible Transportation Priorities (CRTP) and SafeTREC have partnered to promote Street Story in Humboldt County. CRTP is a
non-profit organization in Humboldt County who aims to promote transportation solutions that protect and support a healthy environment, healthy people, healthy communities, and a healthy economy on the North Coast. In 2024, CRTP and SafeTREC partnered on Street Story engagement work across Humboldt County through grassroots outreach that included educating the public about Street Story, providing technical assistance and training to local agencies and community groups, and distributing information on Street Story at events and meetings.
These engagement efforts resulted in an uptick in the number of reports that were submitted monthly to Street Story, a finding that was highlighted in the 2024 CRTP Street Story Outreach in Humboldt County Final Report. CRTP has also published a data analysis report, which analyzed approximately five years of Street Story data collected in the County from 2019 through March 2024, and highlights many narratives from Street Story reports to give the reader direct insight into community members' experiences.
As of November 5, 2025, Street Story reports in Humboldt County have surpassed 1,500 reports. CRTP encourages anyone who lives or travels in Humboldt County to use Street Story whenever they have relevant information to report, and uses reports to help advocate for safety improvements for people walking and biking on the streets.
